Designing Motivation - Changing Human Behaviour Using Game-Elements (G-MOTIV) is about researching and applying new approaches to behavioural change based on motivation by using game elements. We will conduct research on the motivational effect of game elements in changing behaviour. Our multidisciplinary team of scientists and designers will work on developing intelligent PSS prototypes in the fields of health care and human resources, resulting in structural behavioural change.

Active Cues places first Tovertafel and wins New Venture award!

Some great news this month for the G-MOTIV project Active Cues. On March 11, the first ‘Tovertafel’ was revealed at Viattence in Heerde. This means the first product of Active Cues is now officially in use. As a surprise for the elderly, the table was wrapped as a present, revealed and immediately tested.

Active Cues at Eyeopeners Live on radio BNR

This month’s edition of Eyeopeners Live by The Financieel Dagblad and BNR Radio will be about the future of aging. The Dutch Institute for Healthcare and Environment (RIVM) predicts four out of ten people will deal with a chronic disease and dementia will be the major cause of death in the year 2030. These changes in human health require innovative changes in healthcare.

Newsletter Active Cues #2

If the first Design for Dementia event from the 15th of October had to be described in some key-words, they would be: active, innovative and socially interactive. About thirty participants made the Active Cues kick-off a big success. Actice Cues is part of the G-MOTIV project and entails the stimulation of physical exercise for elderly with dementia.

Volkskrant article G-MOTIV project at Wuppermann

Within the G-MOTIV project, serious game developing partner RANJ is currently applying gamification at the Wuppermann steel factory in the Netherlands. Dutch newspaper, The Volkskrant,  recently published an article on this project and how gamification is used at other companies in the Netherlands.
