CRISP#2 Magazine Available Online

What is the value of design and Design Research? With this question as a starting point, researchers from the 3 Technical Universities and Design Academy Eindhoven, partners from the creative industry and key governmental relations explain how a design driven approach can be key for organisations and society. The magazine is an initiative of CRISP (Creative Research Industry Scientific Programme), a national research programme in which the 3 Technical Universities, Design Academy Eindhoven and over 50 industrial partners collaborate. The aim of the programme is to get a better understanding on the strategic role of design and designers to make our creative economy more competitive.

In this issue, José Theunissen (Reader Fashion Theory and Research at ArtEZ) elaborates on challenges of the industry .Guido Stompff, product designer and design thinking at Océ describes how designers are essential to prototype new business for Product Service Systems and Hester Anderiessen, researcher at TU Delft explains how with playful triggers with design probes can be beneficial for people suffering from dementia.  The magazine stresses "the importance of design for the Dutch Top Sector policy", as Bertholt Leeftink (Ministry of Economic Affairs) mentions in the preface.
